Chairman's Message

India's agricultural livelihood is vital for its massive population and cannot be underestimated. Agriculture remains the primary source of livelihood for approximately 58% of the population in India. The country touched 1.38 billion in population in 2020 (accounting for 17.7% of the global population according to world population figures). Since independence, the population has tripled; by 2027, it is set to surpass China as the most populous country in the world. The increasing population, rising average income, and globalization will lead to increased demand for quantity, quality, nutritious food, and various types of diets in India. Therefore, the pressure on diminishing available arable land will persist, emphasizing the need to increase production with more quantity, diversity, and quality of food. Seeds are fundamental and the most crucial input for sustainable agriculture. The response of all other inputs depends significantly on the quality of seeds. It is estimated that the direct contribution of quality seeds alone to total production is about 15-20% based on crop basis and can be increased up to 45% with skillful management of other inputs. The development of the seed industry in India, particularly in the last 30 years, has been very significant. Jaykond Bioseeds Pvt. Ltd. has been engaged in developing high-yielding capacity seeds with improved varieties for many years to meet the needs of farmers. Jaykond Bioseeds Pvt. Ltd. is working with a research and development team to produce quality seeds to fulfill the future needs of farmers.
